In this paper the Cenozoic Anatolian fossil faunas of small mammals and their palaeobiogeographical distribution are considered. Micromammalian fossil Anatolian faunas of Paleogene age are rare and limited to the Oligocene whilst the Neogene and Quaternary assemblages are rather abundant. Three faunal elements are always present (from the Oligocene to the Holocene) in these assemblages: European, Asian, and Endemic. The percentage of these elements changes with the age of the assemblage. During the Middle Miocene and the Pliocene a few elements of African affinities are also present.
