Abstract

Recently, an empirical–experimental approach to sentimentalist ethics emerged. In what follows, some critical remarks are made on this attempt to revitalize emotivism by means of neurocognitive sciences. The main limit of this project, we will argue, is that it builds on a “pyramidal” view of mind and an antagonistic rather than integrative view of the relation between emotion and reason.
