Abstract

Since 2002, the Solar Decathlon is an international event where the most important universities have the chance to confront, proposing prototypes of sustainable housing. The competition tackles the issue of sustainability together with the dwelling one. This year, in Versailles, Roma Tre, who had already participated in the 2012 edition and won the third prize, is still present and in competition with the project "Rhome for Dencity," which wins the 2014 SDE edition. The design of the house “Rhome” is based on few fundamental principles of the culture of living, in the center of which is the man. It’s a home for all, with an accomplished architectural structure, which is expressed in the form of the house, in the most traditional and rooted in the culture of living spaces, but, at the same time, is able to be functionally and dimensionally flexible, but, above all, to respond with care for the environment.
