This study seeks to examine the work of the Italian banking system and study the factors affecting financial soundness of the Italian banks, as well as the formation of a possible strategy for the development of the major Italian banks after the crisis. The literature on the banking stability model is largely focused on the concept of credit risks and emphasizes the strengths and weaknesses of the financial management of the bank model. While studying the profiles of leading Italian banks in Italy over the period 2005-2008, a direct relationship can be traced between a bank's financial strength, the volume of its loan portfolio, the rate of return to finance, and bank profitability (ROA)
