POSTFAZIONE

The “Colombian” Francisco de Miranda is the character studied from different angles in Carmen Bohórquez Morán´s book. Miranda is the international Venezuelan, the man, the genius who made Latin America´s independence his reason for living, despite the lack of support of their contemporaries. He was considered as responsible for the fall of the First Republic and he was rescued with convicing proof. In the two hundredth anniversary of the Latin American Wars of Independence, this book aims to put forward a new view of Francisco di Miranda, the true responsible character for the search of a real Latin American identity.

Il “colombiano” Francisco de Miranda è la figura studiata, in tutte le sue sfaccettature, nel libro di Carmen Bohórquez Morán. Miranda è il venezuelano universale, l’uomo, il genio che fece dell’indipendenza dell’America Latina la ragione della sua esistenza, anche se non fu seguito dai suoi contemporanei. Considerato responsabile della caduta della Prima Repubblica, è qui riscattato con prove convincenti. L’opera, nel bicentenario delle Guerre per l’Indipendenza latinoamericana, si pone come obiettivo di riproporre una visione nuova di Francisco di Miranda, il vero artefice della ricerca di un’autentica identità ispanoamericana.
