This article presents the results of a national research project currently in its final stages which aims to promote a critical reflection, from a theoretical point of view and also by means of empirical surveys, on higher education, in particular the doctoral level, paying particular attention to the issue of quality in higher education, in educational training and research. The focus on the doctoral level is particularly important since Italian universities are reorganizing their curricula pursuant to Act no. 270, also with a view to promoting the transfer of knowledge and creativity to businesses and the public administration at the central and local level.

Abstract
This article presents the results of a national research project currently in its final stages which aims to promote a critical reflection, from a theoretical point of view and also by means of empirical surveys, on higher education, in particular the doctoral level, paying particular attention to the issue of quality in higher education, in educational training and research. The focus on the doctoral level is particularly important since Italian universities are reorganizing their curricula pursuant to Act no. 270, also with a view to promoting the transfer of knowledge and creativity to businesses and the public administration at the central and local level.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
