Centri storici minori: un futuro per il patrimonio antico

The text analyzes the scenery of the actual architectural preservation state of the Italian small historic centers, bringing data regarding their substance and importance. It goes back over the principal steps of the territorial urban development which, from the first years of last century, brought to the present situation; pointing out the issues and the needs to operate properly on the historic built heritage and landscape with the purpose to highlights its beauty potentialities. It is therefore conducted an investigation on the most recent episodes with the double core of eliminate the works that disfigure the landscape or to prevent further and to promote actions which had the purpose to renew the smaller historic centers through operations of restoration and valorization. The ample casuistry exposed in the paper shows how these small centers represent a resource for our country built heritage. how this resource can be enhanced and how can also offer the occasion to launch a sustainable territorial development.

Il testo analizza lo scenario dell’attuale stato di conservazione architettonica dei centri storici minori italiani, riportando dati in merito alla loro significatività ed importanza. Vengono ripercorse le principali fasi di sviluppo urbano che dai primi anni del secolo scorso hanno condotto alla situazione presente; sottolineando i problemi e la necessità di operare correttamente sul patrimonio storico costruito e sul paesaggio al fine di metterne in evidenza la bellezza potenziale. Viene poi riportata un'indagine sugli interventi più recenti che hanno avuto il duplice obiettivo o di eliminare le opere che deturpavano il paesaggio o di promuovere azioni allo scopo di rinnovare i centri storici minori attraverso operazioni di restauro e valorizzazione. L’ampia casistica esposta nel contributo mostra come questi luoghi rappresentino una risorsa per il patrimonio architettonico e come questa risorsa possa divenire occasione per rilanciare uno sviluppo sostenibile del nostro territorio.
