The paper presents the preliminary results of an inquiry into Latin fragments and scripts from the Qubbat al-Khazna in the Umayyad Great Mosque of Damascus, based on the images and photographic reproductions currently available. A brief palaeographical and textual survey has been undertaken: new texts have been identified here for the first time; the significance of the presence of the Latin pieces among the other fragments is discussed.
