Given a discrete (“Point Cloud”) representation of a surveyed object it is possible to analyze its three dimensional features with the help of several planar sections. Some original algorithm is presented and applied to specific cases of interest in archaeology or architecture such as reconstruction of fragmented objects or symmetry detection.
