Therefore, what we refer to is a work pedagogy Atlas, a nowaday accredited discipline, fully enclosed in the Italian and European pedagogy scenery (and with such a history on their backs!), which this publishing series is devoted to. What an excellent challenge to myself! How do we presently “read” the work phenomenon? Why do we pay attention to the work pedagogic aspects? Which are the most relevant research areas? Which the contributions to work and education policies? Which neologisms sprouted up from the considerations of authors asked to tell their narratives? An Atlas is definitely a visualization of places, hence a map intended to help those who need or try to be oriented. An Atlas can furthermore be a dynamic description including tracks suggestions, virtual and real displacements towards imagined or actual destinations. I conceived the idea to develop this Pedagogy of Work Atlas while visiting, a few months ago, the famous Gallery of Geographical Maps in the heart of the Vatican Museums, created at the behest of Pope Gregory XIII in 1580. As is well known, it is a 120 meters long and 6 meters wide wonderful gallery.
