Entre desejo e (des)identificação: algumas considerações sobre o amor na poesia de José Régio

Starting from the representation of the inner drama of an ego in constant conflict between material and spiritual, good and evil, soul and body, God and Devil, José Régio's writing expresses the incessant search for a truth that transcends the limits of the human condition, manifesting the yearning for the fullness of being and the desire to be reunited with a remote and lost origin. In this perspective, this article will analyse the representation of love in the poems that compose the section entitled 'Love and Death' and included in the volume Filho do Homem (1961). The idea of love as the coexistence of opposites and as a figure of "insoluble contradictions" appears emblematic of the identity-alterity dialectic that characterises the work of the Portuguese writer, finding in the loving and carnal relationship between man and woman a particularly representative metaphor of his human and artistic research.

A partire dalla rappresentazione del dramma interiore di un Io in costante conflitto tra materiale e spirituale, bene e male, anima e corpo, Dio e Diavolo, la scrittura di José Régio esprime la ricerca incessante di una verità che trascende i limiti della condizione umana, manifestando l'anelito alla pienezza dell'essere e la volontà di ricongiungersi con un'origine remota e perduta. In tale prospettiva, nel presente articolo sarà analizzata la rappresentazione dell'amore nelle poesie che compongono la sezione intitolata "Amore e morte" e inclusa nel volume Filho do Homem (1961). Il concetto di amore come coesistenza di opposti e come figura di "contraddizioni insolubili" appare emblematico della dialettica identità-alterità che caratterizza l'opera dello scrittore portoghese, trovando nel rapporto amoroso e carnale tra uomo e donna una metafora particolarmente rappresentativa della sua ricerca umana e artistica.
