Abstract

THz radiation is absorbed and reflected by water at the same time. This characteristic can be exploited to monitor the water stress conditions of living plants. In this study, a THz imaging system operating in reflection mode has been used to monitor the variations of the water content in a basil leaf detached from the plant. The operation principles of this experimental setup with its components will be described in this research.
