From Corsini Garden to Botanic Garden of Rome New data on the project and on the achievement of the Scalinata and Fontana degli Undici Zampilli (Staircase and Fountain of the Eleven Water Spurts) have come to our knowledge during the recent restoration carried out by the National Restoration Institute of Rome. The important, but not well known, architectonic work by Ferdinando Fuga dated 1742-1744, was accomplished in the grandiose garden of Palazzo Corsini alla Lungara which in 1883 became the seat of the Botanic Garden of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. The “Fontana della Prospettiva” (Perspective Fountain), as it is called in the seventeenth century documents, was designed following the axis of the palace’s south wing and was enriched with ancient statues and busts, most of them now lost but documented by the payments to the workers and by an unpublished inventory redacted during the time of Cardinal Neri Maria Corsini, patron of this work. One of these statues was recognized in Capitoline Museums' Depot and it is hereby proposed to place it back in its original seat.

Abstract
One of these statues was recognized in Capitoline Museums' Depot and it is hereby proposed to place it back in its original seat.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
