Abstract
An analysis of variants and their status in Classical Arabic texts shows their radical difference from the picture generally accepted for Western texts: in particular, variants seem to be a standard component of the Classical Arabic-Islamic knowledge network, which - owing to its enormous wideness, unrivalled in pre-print ages - clearly shows phenomena habitually associated with hypertexts.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
