Note sull'attribuzione del De resurrectione dello Pseudo-Giustino

This paper examines the attempt to attribute the Pseudo-Justin’s De resurrectione to the Greek apologist Athenagore (II century), proposed by M. Heimgartner. The De res. and the Athenagore’s Legatio are compared. In particular, the comparison concerns the doxographic sections, the anthropology, the language and the style (vocabulary, figures, structure), the presentation of God as nous (intellect) and the general ideological features. Conclusion: «I remain of the opinion that the De res. puts us in contact with a intraecclesiastical debate on the resurrection, developed in the second half of the II century in western area, perhaps in Rome, and that the discourse represents a position risen within the school of Justin. [...] I think that the attempt of attribution proposed by Heimgartner is interesting, but it doesn’t hold neither on the methodological plan, neither the test of the facts, that is the direct comparison of Legatio and De res.».

Questo saggio esamina il tentativo di attribuire il De resurrectione dello Pseudo-Giustino all’apologista greco Atenagora (II secolo), proposto da M. Heimgartner. Il De res. e la Legatio di Atenagora sono messi a confronto. In particolare, il confronto riguarda le sezioni dossografiche, l’antropologia, la lingua e lo stile (lessico, figure, struttura), la presentazione di Dio come nous (intelletto) e l’impostazione ideologica di fondo. Conclusione: «Resto dell’opinione che il De res. ci metta in contatto con un dibattito intraecclesiale sulla resurrezione sviluppatosi nella seconda metà del II secolo in area occidentale, forse romana, e che il discorso sia una presa di posizione sorta nell’ambito della scuola di Giustino. [...] Il tentativo di attribuzione proposto da Heimgartner è, secondo me, interessante, ma non regge né sul piano metodologico, né alla prova dei fatti, cioè al confronto diretto di Legatio e De res. ».
