The chapter traces back the relations between the pragmatist movement and preceding philosophical traditions, as well as the differences and continuities with some contemporary currents of thought in the fields of epistemology and ethics. It also clarifies the relevance of the classical pragmatists’ thought in respect to the contemporary theoretical panorama.
Il capitolo ripercorre i rapporti tra il movimento pragmatista e le tradizioni filosofiche antecedenti nonchè le sue differenze e continuità con alcune di pensiero contemporanee nel campo dell'epistemologia e dell'etica. Viene inoltre puntualizzata la rilevanza del pensiero dei pragmatisti classici rispetto al panorama teoretico contemporaneo.
