Surveys of the sound of Fontana di Trevi, and the sonic characterization along the space of surrounding narrow streets. The surveys resulted in a comparison of perceptual and "objective" maps. The perceptual maps were worked out in different times of the day and night, providing different spatial sound enviroments. The organization of space is neither open nor completely closed; the physical nature of the sound of falling water, allowed an interpretation of the narrow streets as waveguides, and of some walls as early reflection features. The perceptual analysis has been prompted by the lack of instruments tuned to record and measure complex sounds, such as falling water. The perceptual results have been substantiated by the measurments of Gerhard Muller, expert of space organization of sound, in a common field trip.

Abstract
The perceptual results have been substantiated by the measurments of Gerhard Muller, expert of space organization of sound, in a common field trip.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
