Le ripe scomparse: il Tevere del XX secolo

This essay examines the current state of the Tiber River, in the urban area, sharply separated from the city by the construction of the embankments, in the late nineteenth century. It is illustrated with nineteenth-century photographic images that show the productive activities stablished in the river, like river-mills, fishing areas, sinks etc.

Il saggio affronta lo stato attuale del fiume Tevere, nel tratto urbano, separato drasticamente dalla città in seguito alla costruzione dei muraglioni, alla fine dell'Ottocento. Corredato di immagini fotografiche ottocentesche che mostrano le attività produttive che si svolgevano nell'alveo fluviale: mulini, postazioni di pesca, lavatoi ecc.
