Paremiografía, paremiología y literatura

This book studies the history of Spanish paremiography and paremiology from Middle Age to the 17th century. In the first chapters we examine the work carried out by paremiographers throughout History in order to understand the influence that some had over others, as well as the progress made in this field until the 17th century. In addition, this view will help us to understand the reasons why so many authors, theorists, linguists and humanists chose paremiography as one of their varied intellectual activities. In the second part of the volume, we are going to examine the presence of paremies in Spanish literature from Early Middle Ages to the 17th century. We focus on a certain historical stage, which triggers the change in paremies´ approach: from the first works and compilations in Middle Age or pre-Renaissance to the new view in the 16th century, continuing up to the 17th century.
