The book retraces the theoretical and philosophical implications of so-called “postcolonial studies”, focusing on the rethinking of European (and Eurocentric) notions of history and historiography, cultural identity and subjectivity, through a comparison between the main postcolonial theorists (E. Said, H. Bhabha, G. Spivak, D. Chakrabarty) and key authors of modern and contemporary European philosophy (from Hegel to Marx, from Foucault to Deleuze).
Il volume prende in esame le implicazioni teoretiche e filosofiche dei cosiddetti “studi postcoloniali” in merito a un ripensamento delle nozioni europee (ed eurocentriche) di tempo storico e narrazione storiografica, di identità culturale e di soggettività, attraverso un confronto tra i principali teorici postcoloniali (E. Said, H. Bhabha, G. Spivak, D. Chakrabarty) e autori cardinali della filosofia europea moderna e contemporanea (da Hegel a Marx, da Foucault a Deleuze).
