Il restauro e la sistemazione museale dell'area archeologica dei Mercati di Traiano ha avuto come obiettivo principale quello di conciliare i caratteri di un monumento storico e artistico con i requisiti di un centro archeologico museale dotato di servizi tecnologici, didattici, di ricezione, di consultazione ed accessibile ad un'utenza ampliata. In questo quadro il progetto di architettura assume il ruolo di strumento diretto a mediare le istanze di conservazione con quelle di ammodernamento e di adeguamento alle nuove esigenze.
This publication contains the papers of the seminar "arch.it.arch., Archeology and architecture dialogues" organized since 2005-06, on archeology, design, architecture, by the University of Rome TRE, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Humanities, Department of Planning and Architecture study, Department of artis-historical studies, archaeological and conservation.
