The aim of the paper is to improve the general knowledge about ORM practices in banking groups, within different business lines: commercial, retail, asset management, and to compare them with international banks’ practices. The research hypotheses are: 1.ORM must not be considered in isolation 2.ORM management practices’ change: a)happens together with other organizational and strategic changes (internal and external communication modes, managerial incentives, business ethics and personnel management values, conceptual and physical architecture of information systems, and so on); b)has some significant overlaps with other Supervision practices (internal audit and compliance, above all); 3.ORM has three relevant research dimensions: technical and organizational, social, internal-external dimension. These hypotheses are tested in a sample of Italian banking groups engaged in developing ORM system and process
