The phase diagram of a simple fluid confined in a quencheddisordered structure is studied by grand canonical Monte Carlosimulation. The matrix is modeled to represent a fractaland highly porous silica aerogel andis generated from a diffusionlimited cluster-cluster aggregation procedure.The multicanonicalensemble sampling technique combined with the histogram reweightingmethod makes possible to build the liquid-vapor coexistencecurve which is narrower than in the bulk.A shouldering on the liquid side is observed which indicatesthe possibility of a liquid-liquid transition smeared out byfinite size effects.
