Along with a brief analysis and contextualization of the Italian heretic Francesco Pucci’s theological and religious thought, this chapter concentrates on his five-year long process of conversion to Catholicism, or rather, of returning to Catholicism. Pucci formally re-conciliated in the hands of the apostolic nuncio in Prague in 1587, after reconciling in foro interiore a couple of years before. The starting point of this process of conversion must be located in England at the beginning of the 80s when Pucci decided to dissimulate his identity and simulate his death. From dissimulation to conversion: this five-year process is analysed together with a reflection on the hidden ties that linked together these two moments.
