Since the 19th century German has lost much of its importance as an academic language, not only in Natural Sciences but also in Humanities. Taking the example of the European Master in Lexicography, an inernational bilingual university course, this article deomnstrates how important German is as an academic language for scientific research and reflection in specific fields like lexicography.
