This article is part of a research project carried out under the Graduate Program in Education of the University of Passo Fundo and investigates the importance of music learning for the development of an individual, not only in regard to musical development, but mainly referring to its cognitive aspects. For this reason, some questions are approached to the learning and human development while participants in a culture, the cognitive processes that involve the music learning and Law 11.769, which provides for the mandatory teaching of music in brazilian schools. Still, seeks to explore alternatives for teaching music in schools, seeing the technology as a potential great tool.
