The research presented in this paper arises from long lasting cooperation amongst several countries from different continents which began in 2005. Previous results about the professional status of teachers were published in 2009 (Chistolini, 2009). Keywords like empathy, collaboration, inclusion and participation were the core of our descriptive analysis in order to understand the meaning of competences in school contexts.
