The evaluation of the effectiveness of consulting services for students is currently a research area in progressive development at international level. Biasi, Patrizi, Mosca and De Vincenzo (2016) have recently demonstrated the positive effect of support and recovery in the studies recorded by 66 students who used psychodynamic university counseling services, compared to a parallel control group made up of 44 waiting students. to carry out consultancy (waiting group). This result was also confirmed in a subsequent survey (Biasi, Patrizi, De Vincenzo & Mosca, 2017) conducted with an experimental group of 80 students who completed the consultancy in the first academic semester, and a control group made up of 52 students , included in a waiting list, who have booked guidance for the following semester. In a study conducted on a sample of 250 young female students it emerged that the transition to the university is often marked by difficulties in adapting to emotional and social, thus confirming the need for a support and orientation intervention at university level achieved through consulting services (Biasi et. al., 2015). In this paper we will refer to the model adopted by the consulting service of the University 'Roma Tre', centered on a psychodynamic approach particularly indicated, in our opinion, to meet the needs of the university student as a young adult in his full potential cognitive and usually available to introspection thanks also to the full development of abstract and formal thinking generally achieved in this age group. The procedure adopted in the context of the Psychological Counseling Service includes a reception session where both general socio-demographic information and specific information on the type of request made by the student are collected; of course subject to the signing of the informed consent protecting the user's privacy in compliance with the current ethical law. Following a cycle of four interviews on a weekly basis, and a follow-up meeting scheduled three months later. The brevity of the intervention offered is intended both to reassure young users from the fear of a dependence on the figure of the Counselor (this could contrast with their desire for autonomy and growth), and to promote and activate their personal resources by quickly identifying any emotional issues in order to reduce study delays and prevent the risk of drop-outs.
La valutazione dell'efficacia dei servizi di consulenza rivolti agli studenti rappresenta attualmente un'area di ricerca in progressivo sviluppo a livello internazionale. Biasi, Patrizi, Mosca e De Vincenzo (2016) hanno dimostrato recentemente l’effetto positivo di sostegno e recupero negli studi registrato da 66 studenti che hanno utilizzato servizi di counselling universitario psicodinamico, rispetto ad un parallelo gruppo di controllo costituito da 44 studenti in attesa di svolgere la consulenza (waiting group). Tale risultato è stato confermato anche in una successiva indagine (Biasi, Patrizi, De Vincenzo & Mosca, 2017) condotta con un gruppo sperimentale formato da 80 studenti che hanno completato la consulenza nel primo semestre accademico, ed un gruppo di controllo costituito da 52 studenti, inseriti in una lista di attesa, i quali hanno prenotato la consulenza per l’orientamento per il semestre successivo . In uno studio condotto su un campione di 250 giovani studentesse è emerso che la transizione verso l’università è spesso segnata da difficoltà di adattamento a emotivo e sociale, confermando, quindi, la necessità di un intervento di sostegno e orientamento a livello universitario realizzata attraverso i servizi di consulenza (Biasi et. al., 2015). In questo scritto faremo riferimento al modello adottato dal servizio di consulenza dell’Università 'Roma Tre', centrato su un approccio di tipo psicodinamico particolarmente indicato, a nostro avviso, a rispondere alle esigenze dello studente universitario in quanto giovane adulto nel pieno delle sue potenzialità cognitive e disponibile solitamente all’introspezione grazie anche al pieno sviluppo del pensiero astratto e formale raggiunto in genere in questa fascia di età. La procedura adottata nell’ambito del Servizio di Counselling psicologico prevede una sessione di accoglienza ove vengono raccolte sia informazioni socio-demografiche generali sia informazioni specifiche sul tipo di richiesta avanzata dallo studente; naturalmente previa firma del consenso informato a tutela della privacy dell’utente nel rispetto della vigente normativa deontologica. Segue un ciclo di quattro colloqui a cadenza settimanale, e un incontro di follow-up previsto a distanza di tre mesi. La brevità dell’intervento offerto ha lo scopo sia di rassicurare i giovani utenti dal timore di una dipendenza dalla figura del Counsellor (ciò potrebbe contrastare con il loro desiderio di autonomia e di crescita), sia di promuovere e attivare le loro risorse personali identificando rapidamente eventuali problematiche emotive in modo da ridurre i ritardi nello studio e prevenire il rischio di drop-out.
