This paper aims to reconstruct the historical and cultural passage that saw the decline of Dadaist nihilism and the rise of the oneiric-political project launched by Surrealism. This is a delicate juncture, because if Surrealism rightly deserves the name of "movement", the same cannot be said of Dadaism, from which many of its major representatives came. In the first case, we have a centralised group, while in the second, we do not find a top-down system, but rather a reticular, "rhizomatic" structure.
