Dynamic spectrum access and cognitive radio have been recognized as the technologies to efficiently answer the radio spectrum scarcity problem. Such solutions allow non-licensed users to opportunistically access the spectrum, when licensed users are not transmitting. To increase the spectrum utilization, double auction-based mechanism for spectrum management have been recently proposed. In this work, we focus on the economic properties of double auction models in order to increase the profit of both the sellers and buyers of the radio resource. Our simulation results confirm the validity of such an approach for dynamic spectrum management in cognitive radio networks.
