This paper aims to analyze a series of issues related to the audiovisual translation of mixed-language texts, which are characterized by the presence of different varieties of languages and of socio-pragmalinguistic elements. The analysis will focus particularly on two Brazilian TV series: Mandrake (2005-2007) and FDP (2012). The former was broadcast on Sky TV in Italy in 2009 in its dubbed version in Italian and the latter was subtitled by the students of Portuguese in a MA course at the University of Salento (Italy) within a project organized by the Departmental Group of Audiovisual Translation in November 2012.

Abstract
This paper aims to analyze a series of issues related to the audiovisual translation of mixed-language texts, which are characterized by the presence of different varieties of languages and of socio-pragmalinguistic elements. The analysis will focus particularly on two Brazilian TV series: Mandrake (2005-2007) and FDP (2012). The former was broadcast on Sky TV in Italy in 2009 in its dubbed version in Italian and the latter was subtitled by the students of Portuguese in a MA course at the University of Salento (Italy) within a project organized by the Departmental Group of Audiovisual Translation in November 2012.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
