In this paper we will focus on the problems of audiovisual translation regarding texts characterized by the presence of traits and varieties of language with a high level of markedness both on a diatopic and socio-situational level. In this regard, two short films will be analysed, the Portuguese Arena (2009) directed by João Salaviza, and the Brazilian Cine Holiúdy – O Artista Contra o Cabo do Mal (2004) directed by Halder Homes, in their original version and in their version with Italian subtitles.

In this paper we will focus on the problems of audiovisual translation regarding texts characterized by the presence of traits and varieties of language with a high level of markedness both on a diatopic and socio-situational level.
