Nowadays the parent-child relationship has undergone a profound mutation, which goes beyond and redefines the acquired conceptualizations of paternity, descent and inheritance. Through the analysis of some Italian documentaries of the last decade, the essay wants to propose a reflection on the links between the forms of autobiographical identity and generational practices, in order to detect how the modifications in the current family relationships are exemplary mirror of a historical evolution of the representative and figurative regimes of the parent-child condition.
