This book aims to investigate how flexibility could be a useful design strategy in the framework of the discipline of architecture technology. The topic is of keen interest and of technical and technological actuality. The directions and dimensions of this contribution could have been various and numerous, because the topic can be tackled at different scales and with different instruments of investigation. The topic of flexible design is widely addressed under different perspectives and declined in technical, technological, social point of views and at different scales. The present text aims to show that flexibility is a useful strategy of broad scope for architectural projects if declined together with objectives such as sustainability, energy efficiency (both the topics are particularly dear to me), innovation and reuse, and it can lead to integrated project solutions to achieve an architecture with high quallity standard in term of technological, environmental and social matters.
Il tema della flessibilità nel progetto di architettura è in grado di offrire strategie progettuali che, declinate insieme a obiettivi e strumenti più generali di progetto, possono condurre a soluzioni per il raggiungimento della qualità tecnologica, ambientale e sociale dell’architettura. Il testo presenta una riflessione tesa a sottolineare il valore e la dimensione del progetto flessibile come strategia utile ad assolvere obiettivi e ottenere requisiti quali quelli della sostenibilità, dell’efficienza energetica, dell’innovazione tecnologica, del riuso funzionale del patrimonio costruito e della qualità estetica del progetto.
