The aim of this paper is to review the honorary arches (or gates) existing in Asia Minor from its annexation to the Roman Empire up to Trajan and to analyze them as an evidence of change in the architecture of Asia Minor. Differently from other kind of Roman buildings, for a long time the arches in Anatolia result less numerous than in other provinces and their fortune appears not really successful.
