Abstract
In the particular context determined by the First World War the Caucasian area, placed in a marginal position in relation to European geopolitics, also returned to be a component of the «Great game» among the super powers. These ones exploited the vacuum caused by the fall of the Russian empire in an attempt to gain control of territories that have become strategic again on the international chessboard. At that time, Georgia had an experience of independent State. Despite it was a temporary experience, the Georgian democratic republic had a great importance from a historical point of view, as it would have been an inspiring model for «imagining» the construction of a nation-state detached from the Soviet-Russian imperial heritage.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
