The essay proposes a wide-ranging reflection on the broad theme of Petrarch correspondence and the intellectual network that it has created, both in Italy and in Europe, considering it fundamental for the dissemination of new aspects of modernity, in particular for the creation of a new figure of intellectual attentive to the philosophical-moral aspects but no less interested in the daily perspectives of his activity, to political and diplomatic action, to the practice of intellectual work, to strengthen the solidarity of writers in the name of knowledge, friendship and professional solidarity. It also examines in detail in various aspects of the early epistolary exchanges between Petrarch and Boccaccio, which are addressed to these same themes.
Propone una riflessione di larga prospettiva sull’ampio tema della corrispondenza petrarchesca e della rete intellettuale che essa ha creato, in Italia e in Europa, considerandola fondamentale per la diffusione di nuovi aspetti della modernità, in particolare per la creazione di una nuova figura di intellettuale attento agli aspetti filosofico-morali ma non meno interessato alle prospettive quotidiane della sua attività, all’azione politica e diplomatica, alla prassi del lavoro intellettuale, a cementare la solidale intesa tra letterati in nome del sapere, dell’amicizia e della solidarietà professionale. Esamina altresì nel dettaglio sotto vari aspetti le prime corrispondenze fra Petrarca e Boccaccio, che sono rivolte a questi stessi temi.
