Γεωγραφική ανάλυση και νέες τεχνολογίες στη προσέγγιση του τοπίου της Θηρασίας (Approaching the landscape of Therasia through spatial analysis and new technologies)

The paper presents the contribution that new technologies have offered to the collection and integrated analysis of the multiform data from the archaeological survey of Therasia island and the geological and palaeo-environmental research. The application of digital technologies in the landscape research project on Therasia is represented mainly by the application of geoinformatics and GIS for the management and integration of large data sets concerning the natural and man-made environment of the island, as well as by the use of new technologies during fieldwork (artifact surface survey and non-destructive methods), aiming at further evaluation and analysis of the natural and cultural elements of the island landscape and its landscape setting over time.
