Our metropolitan existences often lead to a hyper-sensitisation to technology and a constant loss of closeness to the natural world. In this contribution, we present an ecological model of teacher education implemented in an international outdoor education course. The results highlight the compelling reasons for outdoor education to achieve healthy and integral development of the human being, in all age groups.
