The uneasy space of Saverio Muratori. Saverio Muratori was a leading personality in the panorama of Italian architecture of the twentieth century; a designer, theorist and teacher of great depth, which later architectural culture has partly removed. Over time, a gap between the scholar and the architect becomes increasingly evident, in other words between the holistic and analytical approach of the former and the expressionist, essentially anticlassical conception of space of the designer. This anti-classical vein runs through his design production since the beginning, amplifying after the war. A sensitivity that is expressed in a personal attitude to the deformation of the architectural masses, to the tensioning of the building fabrics, and to the use of dimensional dissonance.

Abstract
The uneasy space of Saverio Muratori. Saverio Muratori was a leading personality in the panorama of Italian architecture of the twentieth century; a designer, theorist and teacher of great depth, which later architectural culture has partly removed. Over time, a gap between the scholar and the architect becomes increasingly evident, in other words between the holistic and analytical approach of the former and the expressionist, essentially anticlassical conception of space of the designer. This anti-classical vein runs through his design production since the beginning, amplifying after the war. A sensitivity that is expressed in a personal attitude to the deformation of the architectural masses, to the tensioning of the building fabrics, and to the use of dimensional dissonance.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
