Italia – DDR. Nuove prospettive di ricerca

The volume collects essays by six young authors who, through various themes, tackle the pivotal issues of the complex historical narrative of the GDR and its bilateral relations with Italy during the Cold War. Bearing witness to the fact that interest in studying the GDR is far from dormant, the volume situates the trajectory of the socialist state within European history, employing an interdisciplinary and transnational approach that fruitfully merges the investigation of both its political and cultural dimensions.

Il volume raccoglie i saggi di sei giovani autori, che attraverso temi diversi, affrontano questioni cruciali della complessa vicenda storica della DDR e delle sue relazioni bilaterali con l’Italia durante la Guerra fredda. Testimoniando come l’interesse verso lo studio della DDR sia tutt’altro che sopito, il volume colloca la parabola dello Stato socialista all’interno della storia europea, con un approccio interdisciplinare e transnazionale, che unisce in modo fecondo l’indagine sulla dimensione politica e su quella culturale.
