The dream of a world pain free has been the utopia of all rationalisms, the attempt to justify in a logical cage even the unjustifiable or unforgivable. From this perspective, fraternity appears as a universal benevolence or, in other cases, an attempt at general immunisation. Quite different is the hope of giving life to a fraternal community where wounds are recognised and welcomed. It is the opposite of those inauthentic forms of ideal coexistence, “without debts or credits”, earned by zeroing out all inequalities, where both compassion and gratitude would be annulled.

Abstract
The dream of a world pain free has been the utopia of all rationalisms, the attempt to justify in a logical cage even the unjustifiable or unforgivable. From this perspective, fraternity appears as a universal benevolence or, in other cases, an attempt at general immunisation. Quite different is the hope of giving life to a fraternal community where wounds are recognised and welcomed. It is the opposite of those inauthentic forms of ideal coexistence, “without debts or credits”, earned by zeroing out all inequalities, where both compassion and gratitude would be annulled.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
