The paper analyzes several legal aspects of the first renewable and solidarity energy community in Rome, called 'Le Vele'. This case-study is particularly interesting for many reasons, and two of them are carefully examined herein. The first concerns the ownership, and in particular the identification of the property boundaries and related powers and duties of the owner. The second addresses the emergence of a collaborative dimension, arising from the bottom and which affects the internal and external contractual dynamics of the community. These and other connected issues are addressed herein, and some solutions are proposed in line with the new European regulatory and constitutional framework of reference, through a human-centred and axiological interpretation of law and values.
