the business consulting environment includes several professions such as accounting and auditing, and these consultancy services could be provided by different types of organisations. moreover, there are different technologies which are rapidly transforming the economy and industry and, in a few recent years, have raised concern about the future of the business consulting. this article applies a systematic literature-based approach to analyse the current state of publications about the relation between new technologies and business consulting. Findings reveal that the impact of new technologies on professions, the education, the factors affecting technologies adoption, and the new tools for professions are most frequently investigated topics. this article contributes with systematizing literature on the relationship between all types of technologies and professions, differentiating them for each type of organization. Furthermore, its purpose is to analyse all the identified topics and find possible overlooked topics.
