Dono gratuito ed elemosina silenziosa dal Taziano al Heliand

In the Heliand, among the precepts of the Sermon on the Mount, particular emphasis is given to the need to welcome others, acting on earth with selfless generosity. The analysis of verses 1527b-1564, in comparison with the parallel text in Tatian, shows the strategies of adaptation employed by the poet: he follows the suggestions of the source and presents in a single coherent sequence the invitation to break the mimetic specularity of human relations and to give freely and in secret, without aspiring to earthly reciprocation or social acclaim.

Nel Heliand, tra i precetti esposti nel Discorso della montagna, si insiste in modo particolare sulla necessità di accogliere il prossimo in modo assoluto e incondizionato, agendo in terra con generosità disinteressata. Il contributo mira ad analizzare i versi 1527b-1564, nel confronto con il Taziano, per porre in luce le strategie di adattamento usate dal poeta. Seguendo i suggerimenti della fonte, sono presentati in un’unica coerente ed efficace sequenza l’invito a rompere la specularità mimetica delle relazioni umane per donare gratuitamente e in segreto, senza aspirare a un contraccambio terreno o al plauso sociale.
