Starting from the hypothesis, advanced by previous critics, about a supposed cycle of Lope’s plays that would all rework Bandello’s novella I,18, in this paper we intend to approach the question from a theoretical-practical perspective. From this point of view, we will reconsider this proposal and, at the same time, reflect in a more general sense on the usefulness and the benefits of detecting and examining the novelistic hypotexts in the dramatic repertoire of the Fénix and the pitfalls it can pose.

Abstract
Starting from the hypothesis, advanced by previous critics, about a supposed cycle of Lope’s plays that would all rework Bandello’s novella I,18, in this paper we intend to approach the question from a theoretical-practical perspective. From this point of view, we will reconsider this proposal and, at the same time, reflect in a more general sense on the usefulness and the benefits of detecting and examining the novelistic hypotexts in the dramatic repertoire of the Fénix and the pitfalls it can pose.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
