The paper presents in-progress design on a methodologically relevant case study that requires the integration of restoration design techniques in architectural, artistic, and digital fields. San Salvatore di Campi is an extensively and finely frescoed 13thcentury pre-Romanesque parish church. It stands on ancient pre-existences and has been much transformed over time for repairs following the occurrences of severe local seismicity. The 2016 earthquake, determining its collapse, returned a complex of innumerable frescoed stone ashlars that impose the reconstruction of the architecture through the recomposition of the pictorial surfaces. These elements, parcelled out and inseparable from their respective stone supports, impose the reaggregation of the pre-existing structural masonry. The relocation of ashlars, with the study of their mutual juxtaposing surfaces, can be done by resorting to digital tools, for surveying and recognizing the best aggregation solutions of structural components. The project, therefore, concerns the experimentation and fine-tuning of a conservation strategy that aims to identify a virtuous and generalizable model of behavior in restoration characterized by a very close connection between the architectural component and the artistic component of a pictorial nature.

Abstract
The project, therefore, concerns the experimentation and fine-tuning of a conservation strategy that aims to identify a virtuous and generalizable model of behavior in restoration characterized by a very close connection between the architectural component and the artistic component of a pictorial nature.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
