The article examines the processes of diffusion of the cult of St. Philip Neri in the period from his death to his canonisation. The study of archival documentation and printed sources that recounted or depicted the Oratorian underlined the fundamental role of the Roman nobility, including the Pamphilj family, had in the processes of diffusion and promotion of the cult.
L'articolo prende in esame i processi di diffusione del culto a San Filippo Neri nel periodo che va dalla sua morte alla sua canonizzazione. Attraverso lo studio della documentazione d'archivio e delle fonti a stampa che raccontavano o raffiguravano l'oratoriano si evince il ruolo fondamentale della nobiltà romana, tra cui la famiglia Pamphilj, nei processi di diffusione e promozione del culto.
