L’attualità di un’educazione poetica - The relevance of a poetic education

This essay seeks to illuminate the meaning behind the phrase “poetic education.” What do we truly understand by “education,” and what does it mean to call it “poetic”? To explore these questions, the inquiry turns back to the Greek tradition, drawing on insights from Plato and Aristotle. Adopting a phenomenological approach, it aims to reveal the inherently poetic nature of the human being – its characteristics, dynamics, and fundamental needs. It then questions whether this poetic nature occupies a central place in contemporary educational research and practice, or if it remains relegated to the margins, and explores the implications of either stance. Finally, the essay reflects on the roles of both humans and artificial intelligence in shaping an education that respects and nurtures the poetic essence of humanity.

Il saggio propone un’apertura di senso per il sintagma “educazione poetica”. Che cosa intendiamo davvero con “educazione”? E cosa con “poetica”? Per rispondere si torna al mondo greco, interrogando Platone e Aristotele. Attraverso un esercizio fenomenologico, si cerca poi di far emergere la natura poetica dell’umano: i suoi tratti, i suoi movimenti, le sue esigenze. Ci si chiede quanto questa natura sia realmente al centro della ricerca e della pratica educativa, o se non venga piuttosto relegata ai margini – e quali conseguenze ne derivino. Infine, il saggio si interroga sul ruolo che spetta all’umano e quello che può spettare all’intelligenza artificiale nella costruzione di un’educazione capace di onorare la poeticità propria dell’essere umano.
