"Os Outros (d)e José Saramago" analyses the fruitful and constant dialogue between the author of "Memorial do Convento" and writers and artists who are not only Portuguese and not only contemporary. Intertextuality is certainly a privileged key to accessing José Saramago’s work, and the twenty-nine essays collected in this volume map, from different points of view, Saramago’s vast literary and artistic network, valuing the active appropriation of the literary tradition that originally characterises the writing of this extraordinary Portuguese author.
